Privacy Policy

Overview

Grove - Fiber Tracker (“the App”) is developed by JPM Inc. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.

The short version: your data stays on your device. We don’t sell, share, or transmit your personal information to third parties.

Information We Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our servers. The App does not require an account, login, or any form of registration.

All food logs, fiber tracking data, streaks, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device except as described below.

HealthKit

The App requests write-only access to Apple HealthKit to log dietary fiber intake. Grove does not read any data from HealthKit. This integration is optional and requires your explicit permission. Data written to HealthKit is governed by Apple’s privacy policies.

USDA FoodData Central

The App connects to the USDA FoodData Central API to provide food search functionality. Search queries are sent directly to the USDA’s public API. No personal information is included in these requests. The USDA’s data use policies apply to this service.

RevenueCat

The App uses RevenueCat to manage Grove+ subscriptions. RevenueCat processes subscription transactions through Apple’s App Store infrastructure. RevenueCat may collect anonymous identifiers for subscription management purposes. No personal health or food logging data is shared with RevenueCat. For more information, see RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

Analytics and Notifications

The App uses a small number of third-party services to understand how the App is used and to send reminders. None of them receive your food logs or your health data.

  • TelemetryDeck: anonymized usage analytics. The App sends event names such as “a food was logged” along with basic device and app version information. TelemetryDeck is designed so that individual users cannot be identified.
  • PostHog: product analytics. The App sends event names, screen names, and app version information tied to a randomly generated anonymous identifier stored on your device. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID. PostHog session recordings mask all text you type.
  • OneSignal: push notification delivery. If you allow notifications, OneSignal receives your device’s push token, the same anonymous identifier described above, and two behavior values (your current streak and how many days since your last log) so reminders can be timed sensibly.

No food logs, fiber totals, gut health check-ins, or HealthKit data are sent to any of these services. Nothing is sold to anyone, and nothing is used for advertising. There are no ads in the App.

Website Analytics

Our website, grovefiberapp.com, uses Google Analytics 4 to measure page views and traffic sources. Google Analytics sets cookies and may collect your IP address, browser, and general location. This applies to the website only, not the App, and no App data is connected to it. You can block it with any standard browser or content-blocking setting.

Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
